Illustrating Harry Potter

Until 18 June 2017

Hogwarts is Coming to Bailiffgate! This exhibition showcases original illustrations, sketches, models and final prints from the illustrated Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2015), with illustrations by Jim Kay. The spellbinding exhibition has been put together by Seven Stories: The National Centre for Children’s Books in Newcastle, and Bloomsbury Children’s Books.

Crafty Romans - Dragon Kites and Roman Standards

1 June, 12-3pm

Construct your own Roman Cavalry standard with a dragon's head and flowing body. Then assume the role of a draconarius (the bearer of the draco military standard) to charge around the fort.

Celebrating Elmer

This Bank Holiday weekend stomp down to Seven Stories and meet everyone’s favourite elephant, Elmer! With special appearances throughout the weekend in the Bookshop, plus plenty of activities and mask making there’ll be plenty to trumpet about!

Both men and women could be Japanese samurai warriors. Join Oriental Museum to create your own samurai helmet.

Day Out with Thomas

Join the Stephenson Railway museum as they welcome Thomas for a day of family fun. A ticket for Day Out With Thomas includes the ride on a steam train, as well as a variety of Thomas & Friends™ themed entertainment. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet The Fat Controller from the Island of Sodor.
